Lake Louise and The Icefields Parkway

More amazing scenery. For those that don't know, these pictures are still being taken in Canada.

Saw a mama bear and her cub on the side of the road. I don't hardly ever get any good pictures of them. They always show their butts and won't show their faces. Once in a while we might get lucky but not often.

Some more of the beautiful Parkway.

Isn't this totally awesome. Pictures don't do justice.

And more ice.

Some more of the ice.

And here we are. Carol and I were the only ones in our group that took that trip. No, I'm not pregnant or very fat (just a little). I just went prepared. I had all kinds of things in my pockets; gloves, camera and other stuff.

These are buses that took people to the Columbia Icefield. There's about 5 buses going up and down those ice roads all day long transporting people. That was an awesome experience.

One of the Brewster buses going slowly on the ice.

We stopped at the Icefield Center. I ended up getting on a bus and then taking the Brewster Ice Explorer up to the Icefield.

Miles and Miles of this gorgeous scenery.

This is a frozen lake with a glacier in the background.

There are 230 kilometers of continuous World Heritage Site scenery on this road that we are traveling on. This is the Icefields Parkway. It is just unbelievable. Along the way there are seven large upland glaciers and about 25 smaller ones. The cenerpiece is the Columbia Icefield, which is the largest in the Rocky Mountains with an area of about 200 km square.

On our way from Lake Louise down the most beautiful road in the world.
