Skagway, Here We Come

I guess Tommy's trying to hold the post hoping somebody will pick him up. He's tired and doesn't want to walk home. We walked every where in this town. Every thing was close enough that we didn't have to drive anywhere.

And ships.

Trains, RVs, trucks,

Some form of a bus,

There was all kinds of transportation at Skagway, buggys,

After all of that, Tommy just had to go and we let him. We just closed our eyes.

Here we are, finally parked at our destination. We are parked facing the harbor.

And here we go, going to our stopping point. Whew, that was a short but tiring drive.

I guess we have to get checked over. They don't want any bad people coming in. I guess we passed the test. We sure enjoyed that place.

We're actually here. Now what.

They have plenty of truck escape ramps.

Pretty curvy road.

It's looking very promising. Second time into Alaska.

Getting closer.

We're almost there. Eight more miles to Customs. Eight more miles of hills and curves and amazing scenery.

We'll eventually get there.

Another frozen lake. Just beautiful.

Miles and miles of these. The clouds are way down in the mountains and at times they were just like a fog as we were driving. Sometimes we couldn't see any of the scenery because it was so thick. There's a lot more mountains behind those that are covered by the clouds.

Its just unreal. Totally different from anything I've ever seen.

The scenery down this road way is totally undescribeable. Theres mountains, valleys, lakes, trees and snow all over the place.

The road going to Skagway.

Right after coming out of Carcross, we saw this bear but as usual he wasn't poseing. They'd rather eat than pose for people of the states.

Carol and Liz decided that they needed to go to Church.

A general store across from the Visitor's Center. There was anything and everything there.
Lots of clothing and souvenirs.

On the way to Skagway, we stopped at Carcross. Its a cute little town. The building behind the train engine is the Visitor's Center.
