Trying to get to TOK (pop 1435)

Oh no, it looks like more construction.

And away we go into the wilderness.

We finally thought that the road might be okay so we decided to hook up again.

I went through to customs in the car. We were still unhooked because we still had a few miles of bad road. The officer asked me all kinds of questions and then I asked Tommy if he had asked him all those questions and he said no. He asked him other things. We made it through fine though with no problem.

Tommy just can't stand to leave the Yukon behind. He's got one foot in Alaska and one foot in Canada.

We finally made it to the state line for the 3rd time. It is still about 93 miles before we come to the first town (TOK) and into some kind of civilization.

Another picture with Tommy right behind Ron.

I got far away from them that I could stop and take a picture of this bear, but that's the best I could do.

I was driving in front of Ron and Tommy so sometimes I could stop and take pictures of them coming along.
We're unhooked and out on the road again.

By the morning we had decided that we were going to unhook the car because we were again on some bad road and didn't know just how far or long it was going to be this time.

We stopped for the night at a pull off along side the Klaune Country road. After being there for a while, Ron comes over and asks if maybe we should get out of there to be on the safe side because it looked like a fire in the mountains. We looked at it and decided that it was probably just dew or fog or something, but not fire. After a while we started getting company and by the time we went to bed there were about 3 fifth wheels, a couple of class c motorhomes and a few cars and trucks.

This was still along side that mountain.

We didn't unhook and the the road finally got better. It was just a few miles but it seemed like an eternity.

At this time we had got into construction and it was pretty bad. The construction was all around this mountain and the road was gravel of some sort. I guess they're getting it prepared to resurface. We stopped on the side of the road and were tempted to unhook our car before it got messed up.

Going down the road again.

We did stop and took a picture of this old wooden wooden bridge.

We are in Kluane Country in the Yukon.

After Whitehorse and Haines, there's not too much scenery except for long streatches
of roadways and mountain ranges. It is still beautiful.

I guess I didn't take pictures at Whitehorse so we went on our last leg, two nights, before we get into Alaska for the 3rd time.
